Wayne County is an important rural region of NYS

The county has been a great contributor to the state and nation socially, historically, and economically. Bordered to the North by Lake Ontario, hosting a large section of the Erie Canal in the Southern region, and offering rich farmland, forests, and wetlands throughout, the county offers numerous opportunities for people as a destination to live, work, and play.

Its history includes every action our country has ever taken in the cause of a more perfect Union, freedom, and democracy. Its people have advanced civil rights causes, environmental advocacy, and spiritual growth.

We are a top agricultural producer, especially with regards to apples and dairy, are home to world class technology firms and manufacturers, energy production, and some of the best parks and trails in the state, including Chimney Bluffs State Park.

This is a land of opportunity for people of all skin colors, ethnic backgrounds, faiths, orientations, and economic circumstance and deserves to be served by those who recognize its contributions and good people, work to bring people together, and create more opportunities while preserving our rural character and protecting peoples' rights as they live and grow in our communities.
